On either side of summer eg May and September. At these times, it's not too cold but it's also not too busy. Steer clear of coming in winter as the days are short and lots of tourist attractions are closed - plus it's very cold and miserable.

I think you just missed it. we had a roasting hot 3 months (a rare thing here to have more than 2 consectutive weeks of nice weather) now its cooled down. anyway, let the airport thing calm down. weather-wise its unpredictable so just come whenever1

i would go anytime....i went from dec 27-jan 2 this past winter. i had waited 17 years to get to go and my dream finally came true. we immediately took a walk around London and it started snowing!!! It was gorgeous.
