Oooh, this must be the big talking point of the day.
If you stopped to think, do you really believe that Senator Allen or any of those Virginians actually knew that:
"Macaca is the Latin name for a type of monkey found in Southeast Asia, and in some European cultures is considered a racial slur against African immigrants"?
How many white Virginian Republicans do you think know Latin names for Asian monkeys and that is it a European slur against Africans? I know Republicans are smart, but I don't think they all knew this.
You people need to get a grip.

stupid idiots think that the issue is the "macaca" definition.
The point is, Allen was clearly having a laugh at this young American citizen's expense, and chose to refer to him with a disrespectful sounding name (regardless of whether he knew the actual definition of the word). Anyone who tries to argue against this is clearly refusing to see the truth.
The bigger issue is the fact that Allen went even further to call the young American citizen (born and raised in VA) a foreigner based on his non-white ethnic heritage. "Let's welcome Macaca to America..."
That's very racist.
(BTW, I'm also born and raised in VA, and I meet these type of casual racists like Allen a lot, here. Which makes me wonder if this display will hurt or help him. Many people will consider Allen's jokes to be familiar to the type of jokes, they themselves make towards minority citizens.)

Both sides (all sides) use mudslinging and racial or ethnic slurs to make their points. Is his just an isolated incident, or does it have a pattern?
Same should be asked of anyone you seek making blanket sweeping generalizations of millions of people based on race, or ancestry, or culture, or religion.
But unfortunately, that kind of hate-based prejudice is what's popular in the country right now. TC has a good point.

,Anyone, that doesn't have better sense than that shouldn't be running for anything. If you don't even know what a word means, why on earth would you use it to describe someone else., while you are running for office?

The more interesting question is: will it hurt him or help him?
