Why not do both? Thailand is beautiful & still has many unspoilt areas. We were there in April, didn't go to Vietnam but met a couple that had managed to get a return flight to Vietnam from Chang Mai for about £45!

It was quite a while ago but I spent sometime wandering around Vietnam and found it to be a great place, and cheap.
Did Indonisia as well that just as good, but maybe not at the moment.

I'd say neither -- unless you are totally unsqueamish about where you sleep, what you eat, the kind of people you meet and so on. Cambodia and Indonisia are worse, you are right not to fancy them. The locals in these countries are frequently unpredictable. Go to Dubai or Florida or Monaco.

If u look for places full of turism - go to Thailand, but if u are looking something unique- my advice you is that you should go to Vietnam.

Thailand is spoilt now, vietnam isnt full of sexy sleazy places, well i dont think so i havnt been there yet
