a tote bag; it seems to me that on the first day of school you just get a bunch of papers to give to your parents.

Wear a tote bag. Backpacks aren't cool anymore.

Backpacks are more practical. You can throw them on your back without them bumping your side or anybody else in the hall.
It's also easier on your body to carry your books and things in a backpack than a tote bag.
If you have your heart set on a tote, then buy one, but also get a back-up backpack just in case you change your mind. They'll be harder to find after school starts.

Jan sport bags really!!!!!!!!! I don't mean to criticize but Jan sport bags were weak. You either had eastpak or carried the books but if I had to do the whole bag thing I would do a tote bag I guess looks much cooler. That is if Eastpak bags aren't around hahah!! Nike makes some good bags too..

A TOTE BAG IS SOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER (AND MORE MATURE) THEN A REGULAR BACKPACK. sO GO WITH THE TOTE.
