Hands down THE STAND its my all time favorite book. Also try the Bachman Books. When he wrote under another name. I love the dark tower series. And misery was great. The shining made a great movie and if you watch in all the others he does a cameo like Hitchcock did. In the movie as some character. The collaborations with staub are great. And eyes of the dragon good for the kids. I have never been able to watch the movie Salems Lot. My friend said she started reading the book and threw it down the garbage shoot every night only to buy 6 more copies before she could finish it Crazy girl. When you finish all of Kings books try Anne Rice books so wonderful too. Escape into books.

THE STAND, hands down!! Unabridged edition, though. Cujo is excellent - the characters are unforgettable, as they are in Pet Semetary.....but a lesser known and totally AWESOME book - my all-time fave - is a collaboration between Stephen King and Peter Straub - they've done 2 together - both are great. I'm old and am having a memory lapse. Embarassing. Go to "STEPEN KING.com" Comprehensive list of writings, there. His wife, Tabitha, is great, too! "Eyes of the Dragon, " was very good. Have you read the Dark Tower series? I just finished it, last year - November, maybe? "The Green Mile" also is fantastic, and can now be read as one novel. I had to wait for each new edition to come out!! What's your favorite? Ever wanna chat about King's work? If so, Pls. feel free to email me! Happy reading! Be well.

My favourite things that Steven King has done are most of his short stories, Rita Hayward and the Shawshank Redemption, and Quit Smoking are two of my favourites. Other than that I really feel that when he sits down and writes novels he goes into more detail than needed and the stories end up dragging on.

Everything is Eventual. But I'm a short story freak. I think most of King's novels could be cut in half and be even more effective. He's better at a shorter length.

I think all of King's earlier ones were great, Carrie. Salem's Lot. Cujo, I did like The Stand, Tommy Knockers, I have all his books, but prefer the earlier.

i in my opinion relatively enjoyed "The Regulators." This became written in 1996 under King's pseudonym "Richard Bachman." This got here out on a similar day as "Desperation" - which helpful factors lots of a similar characters and plot traits as TR. i've got study the two, besides the undeniable fact that, I enjoyed "The Regulators" greater, especially becuase it scared the crap out of me and that i'd in no way experienced that once analyzing till now. Granted, this became approximately 10 years in the past which might have made me approximately sixteen and lots greater surely hectic than i'd be now. Ha.
