Melky doesnt sound like a spanish name. But then neither does Robinson Cano. I was wondering if anyone knew if Melky was a nickname to shorten his actual name. Any thoughts?

Yeah Im a Yankee fan too and I know about the Leche nickname haha. Good point that dominicans dont really have spanish names. Robinson Cano is a good example.

I know him personally, and his legal name is Melky. Most Dominican names, really don't sound Spanish.
