I know the logic about wind resistance on the tailgate. I'm looking for someone who has installed one and knows how many miles per gallon they gained.

The TV show MythBusters investigated tailgate up vs. tailgate down and found that the eddie of air created behind the cab with the tailgate up actually had better mileage. However, it was very very slight.
Don't buy it to save money on gas, you will never notice a difference.

i have had a few covers and i never achieved a miles per gallon increase. more like an extra few miles per tank at most. i dont think it's worth the expence if the cover is for mileage purposes only. take a lot of miles to payoff. when i spend several hours on the interstate i can actually see the diff at fillup but city driving, no gain. enjoy the truck. no bad days
