Could ice help with the swelling?

I imagine being upright with ice held onto your lip would help. It should be back to normal within a day or so if the ice and being upright doesn't help. If it doesn't shrink, consulting a doctor might be the thing to do. I hope you're well soon!

Yes. You could use ice to help. Not sure if it will reduce the swelling by much, but it will help ease the pain for a while. Be sure to use a good ointment on the cold sore (purchase from a drugstore).

May be I am weird but I think swollen lips are very, very sexy. Why would you want to get rid of it. Put on some lip gloss and go out and drive those guys crazy.

Swollen is because of infection like a wound.
In case you are weird ( in my standard ) or a guy, then I think you should go to pharmacist for suggestion.

well an indian suggestion is that when ur fresh cream of milk is removed then heat it a little then apply an ur lips or u can do without heating it also . other way is apply butter or vaselineor nivea or lipguard

try vaseline
it wont help with the swelling
the only thing that will help
is cold soar medicine
to make the infection go down
i hate gettin cold soars
i only get them in the winter
i use carmex and vaseline

Ice does help. You might also want to try Abreva. It works great.
