I have seen many Illusionists LIVE (the best was Copperfield I saw him in chicago in 1985 I still remember it) that guy who was on Americas Got talent last week I saw him live in Virginia in the 90's many times. I also have a few friends who are "street illusionists" I even know a few "illusions" myself (my most amazing is the chinese linking rings) it is all FAKE. Some are just harder to figure out than others.

magic is to baffle your audience with things that can't be explained and that only the magician knows how to do. it's all an illusion f the mind. that's why things that can't be explained can just be said to be a power. for example, the most common linking rings which everyone knows the secret of - there's a hole in one of the rings. if you didn't know that then it would see to be real magic.

yes i have seen one with my own eyes.
i was the one he performed the trick on, and i still can figure out how he did it. but i don't think it's real magic....
