My boyfriend will be on leave for the month of November and he'd like to rent a small house/apartment or stay at a B & B for a week. We liked Savannah last year as it was so quiet, historical and remote, yet there were so many things to do a mile away. We don't want to stay in the middle of a big city - we did Boston this Spring already. We're looking for a place where we can feel alone together, but still have something to do if we'd like. Also, are there any better weeks in November to go to any particular area? Thanks a bunch!

Anywhere on the shoreline would be good. You are close to I-95, so you can get places fast.

Mystic is great...close to the casinos too. Branford is good, too. A little more central, so you could get to New Haven quickly, and there is always a lot of cool things to do there.

NOT WATERBURY!!!! What was that person thinking?!?!?! Waterbury is a big city that is kinda poor.

If you rather stay "inland," Avon / Simsbury are your "typical New England towns" And you're not far from Hartford to do things.

Hope this helps. Connecticut in November doesn't seem like an ideal vacation spot to me (I live here!) but it does have a nice homey feel. Enjoy your time together!

Block Island in Rhode Island is really nice... I think there is a ferry that leaves from New London, CT. But November is definitely off-season there and it will be cold (I love the beach at that time of year but lots of people don't, haha). Actually I think most of November is the off-season in Connecticut so I don't think any week is better than others except that obviously things will shut down on Thanksgiving.

How about Florida? it is no longer too chilly down there and also you may employ a deliver and sail around the keys. Or an Alaskan cruise might want to be a great vacation. Kinda expensive yet properly worth it, exceptionally once you're on a good time table. If no longer all a thanks to Alaska, there is a few good cruises down in Texas that bypass to Mexico by skill of the gulf. xo
