A sensitive skin is a thin or a fine-textured skin. It reacts quickly to both heat and cold; therefore, it sunburns and windburns easily. It is commonly dry, delicate and prone to allergic reactions. Temperature changes, some detergents, cosmetics and alcohol (used on the skin) can all cause irritation, leaving the skin red and blotchy, with visible surface veins. to wash your face:
1. Moisten your face with water. Work up a lather by rubbing the soap between wet palms. Using your fingertips (not the bar of soap), massage the lather into your face and throat.
2. Rinse thoroughly with a washcloth or with splashes of water. Take three times as much time for rinsing as compared to what you took for lathering. The important thing is that you remove all of the soap so any caustic it contains won't burn your face.
3. Blot dry with a soft towel; vigorous rubbing with coarse material aggravates and tugs at your skin.
Also, a very helpful tip use ARBONNE: Their proprietary formulas are: Botanically-based, pH correct, Hypoallergenic, Dermatologist tested, Never tested on animals, Formulated without animal products or by-products, Formulated without mineral oil, Formulated without dyes or chemical fragrances. Formulatted without mineral oil because it is the 2nd worse thing we could do to our skins health for it is like rubbing car oil on our skin and exposing ourselfes to the sun, animal products come from dead animals and these come from rendering plants these plants pick all dead animal and dead animal parts (from meat houses, etc.) and they put it in a huge pot, squash everything and boils it, what ever comes to the top is the oil other companies use to elaborate thier products, gross I know...the lipstick... ewww anyway, that is why i use botanically based products which is way much better because they get absorbed and the nutrients inside the products is what helps our skin look and feel healthy...they are not sold in stores but I buy them online at http://arbonnepuertorico.myarbonne.com and it is a great way to buy becasue they have this money back guarantee if for some reason there is something you do not like from the products you get your money back guarantee (within 45 days from purchase) so you have nothing to loose, ....I know the info is too much but hope this is helpfull!!!

Hard to believe the wash cloth is making your skin break out; so how about ditching the face washing all together and getting some face pads that clean up your face, like gentle Olay cleansing pads. I use water on my face cause it's sensitive to soaps. Afterward be sure to hydrate with a good sensitive-skin moisturizer.

Your hands have oil on them, so that's probably not the best solution if you're prone to breakouts. Use a soft washcloth, and don't scrub hard...it'll just irritate your skin. Then, put a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil on it and use warm water to clean your face. Depending on how oily your face is, you might need to do this twice a day, but never more. Also, if your face is oily on the T-Zone (forehead, nose, chin) but not really on your cheeks, you could use a different cleanser for each part. Hope this helps!

I have always washed with my hands. Aveda has a great skin care line for very sensitive skin. All sensitive, its as gentle as water. Or baby shampoo is recommended by alot of dermatologists.
