Because he, unlike many of his (former) party, came to the realization that the Republican party of today is not the Republican party he signed on with many years ago.

I guess he lost his mind and his objectivity within the past 6 years or so. He's pretty incoherent and has a flagrant disregard for the facts. He's the perfect neo-Dem.

Poor baby... he "defected" because he didn't get the GOP nomination so he ran as a Democrat instead.

I dont know about a small time REP who is now switching sides but why is a DEMOCRAT who once ran for VICE PRESIDENT as the second best DEMOCRAT in the land now an Independant with Republican supporters? LIEBERMAN as INDEPENDANT because the DEMS cannot even support thier own.
