I believe that sofitel is right by the airport and there is no shopping right there within walking distance. There could be a sofitel in the down-town area as well, I'm not sure. You should have included the address.

Yes. It's nice inside, the food was good, the pool was fine - but it's really in the middle of nowhere (although I was there about 10 years ago, so maybe the surrounding area has been built up). There is a strip mall down the street within walking distance, but when I went there was nothing too great in there.
Overall, it's a nice hotel, but you'll need cab fare to go somewhere for nightlife.

I heard it was a nice hotel but not really sure.. but I don't like the area wouldn't recommend if it's your first time...
