I find teen pregnancies very disgraceful. Who agrees?
In your opinion who is to blame? Parents, school friends, themselves, not enough info.
I find the whole concept of teens even having sex under 17 disgraceful!

I think it's terrible, when i was 13 i was out playing having fun...not sex!!! The parents should take the blame but these kids know what they are doing! it's a massive responsibilty and for the rest of there lives. We also need better sex education in schools so that kids that dont get the birds n the bees talk at home get it from an outside source!

Following the superior form of thinking to the dumb americans

Clearly demonstrated by the affore mentioned statistic via thins link

http://www.advocatesforyouth.org/publications/factsheet/fsest.htm

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/3846687.stm.

This clearly demonstrates that the notion of absteince teaching is clearly wrong, the americans and Uk are inferior morons and the dutch are clearly superior in thinking as have the pretty much loest unwanted teen pregnancy and best sexaully educated teenasd, and 1/75 of the gonnorreah levels of the US.

Ie parents and teachers at fault for being too pathetic and moronic in not educating properly and acknowledging their their kids aint kids no more but teenagers and not looking to the future when they will become teenagers...

With the hormones and feeling a that go with it.

As for kids under 17 having sex.

Get a biology lesson

The average startying age for the human species is 16-17... pretty much always has been.

Humans are hard wired that way hence falling in love so strongly at that age, being more into music, most expressive, sporting, dancing etc.

Maths basically... If you study human life expectancy witouth our technology its mid 30s... divide by two and what a coninsiden... the average age kids get sexaul...

Likewise if you stopped and used that brain... It would make a whole lot more sense that kids got sexaull active whilst still at home with mum and dad as have a whole lot more to learn about reltionships and need parents more at that time then any other...

Plus in an environment where its easiest to find partners for realtionships and mess up and have the oportunity to find a relpalcement due to the number of those their age that surround them in high school at a similar level of experience.

If they wait there will be few their age, No chance of getting to know somone you saw in a bar as opposed to sits in your class for months. A work envoronment wehre you get sacked for falling in love and no parental support when you get dumped or first love all going wrong...

Of course its not right. Emotionally, financially and ethically its wrong. A 13 year old can not provide any of the above to a baby. But who is to blame? Probably all of the groups you mentioned in your question play a part in it. The law is set that at age 16 you can have sex legally, as long as teenagers are taking precautions once they are 16 its not disgraceful.

yeah, i'm perfectly okay with it. what the hell?!!! of course nobody thinks its a good idea. hello!! and i'm sorry the youth of america are disgraceful, but just so you know we are all doing it so get over it. and who's to blame? people like you who think its a huge issue but all you do about it is rally up some people on the net who agree. if it's so 'disgraceful' and horrifying then do somehting. go give classes on the importance of abstinence at your local Y or something that might make a difference. i think people who complain but don't do anything about the problem are disgracful.

No, it's not right. I completely agree with you. You can blame a number of different sources, but I think you should blame the two people who had sex and got pregnant. Parents may have been to lenient, and the kids took advantage of it. School friends may have pressured them into it. They may have just wanted and it was completely their idea. I think most if not all children have enough info that it isn't something that they should be doing. The children had the choice to be responsible and mature children or irresponsible and immature children and they unfortunately chose irresponsible and immature children.

Anyone under 18 is still a kid themselves and so should not be having any kids of their own, they are not ready for a child and they give up their own childhood by having one at such a young age. I blame everyone in that young person's life, parents for not teaching them proper values and for not providing moral standards for that teenager, friends for peer pressure and making the teen feel like it is the done thing at their age and the person's partner for not saying no and making them cop on a bit.

i do think that it's wrong to have a baby at 13.

i was 16 when i had my first child. i know i was young but i wouldn't give my daughter up for anything. i worked hard to prove that i could do it. i know a lot of teens can't and i commend those who admit that and put there babies up for adoption. just because i had a baby at 16 doesn't make me a bad person. i have gotten many compliments about my parenting even when i was 17. if i could though i'd speck to teens about the importance of waiting because i know that even though i've done well (i'm not saying i'm rich because i'm not), it was still very difficult and i had to make a lot of sacrifices to get where i am today.

i'm not saying what i did was right. i would rather see teens grow up before they have kids but i know that no matter how much we preach to them that they shouldn't many will still have sex.

i plan to teach my kids that they should wait.

Look, its not disgracefull! I totally disagree with you. If a 16 year-old guy loves a 16 year-old girl, don't you think that they would what to have sex? And how old are you anyway? If you are older that 20 then think back to when you were in high-school. Didn't you ever want to show how much you loved someone by have sex with them? And what if some teen girl became pregnant because she was raped. Would that be digracefull?

NO i don't,its babies having babies, there bodies and brains are not mature enough to have a baby, there are girls out there as young as 12 having babies, and its so sad, and they so make okay mums with the support of their families.. their life's have just started, they have so much ahead of them, work, travel etc. My daughter had a baby at 17, and she was far to young, she keep her baby, and now she is a really good mum. Skyla is 4months old now, and i can see the cracks starting to appear. She still is great with the baby, but she is starting to wont to go out.... and its mum can you look after Skyla, and i do now and then, but let it be known that Skyla is her baby not mine, i love her heaps, and are always here for them both, but at the end of the day she is my daughters babe, and my grand daughter, i also have 12 over grand children, ages from 6 to 15.... so i totaly agree with you
