...when, after eating, and still at the table, people immediately start digging at their teeth with a toothpick, or their fingernails?

I think toothpicks are something to be used in private, like a toothbrush or toilet paper...!!!

Ick! Yes! I used to have a friend that would blow her nose in the kitchen. right there while I was trying to eat breakfast. How icky is that?

the proper way to handle this is to excuse yourself, go to the bathroom and get the food out of your teeth there. That way, you can at least see if there is anything there that you might not be able to feel. You are not grossing anyone else out, but you are still taking care of business so for the rest of the night, you are not known as "spinach teeth" ;-)

When still at the table, it seems rude. However, sometimes you get something stuck in your teeth that you just have to get out, and you need to use a toothpick. I'd rather the person I'm with use a toothpick, though remove his/her self from the table beforehand. I don't think that toothpicks are "private" items.

oh yeah, I can't stand seeing peoples teeth or inside their mouths. Yes if you are smiling or talking, but other than that no way.

yes it does bug me, especially if I am still eating, and even if I am not I do not want to see you picking scarps out of your teeth.

no it's nothing wrong with that. they want to make sure they look good before talkin' to someone with food all in their teeth. who's wants that embarrassment.
