I was in the same boat as you, but I broke this habit eventhough I am a not a ' morning person'. Perhaps you are not motivated enough right now. Think of reasons why you need to do this act. Eg how it will help you become a better person. Visualize the end result.
Additionally look at factors which make you sleepy.. is it because you have dinner late(try having dinner before 8:00pm :-) ), you have low quality sleep. Is it because you overexercise. etc
Another suggestion is ... read Robin Sharma's book "The Monk who sold the ferrari" as there is a compelling chapter on this issue. All the Best !!!

the foremost reason people fail to break a habit is because they go about it the wrong way. We didn't get into the habit thinking "I am going to do this all my life" say for example we got into smoking thinking "I am going to smoke just one cigarette". Do the reverse If you want to get out of any habit - say I will quit for a day . keep doing it for a couple of times. then quit for a week on end do this a couple of days then finally quit but keep the option of doing it at any time when you desperately want -open! This is how I quit drinking in 1997 after I started it as a habit in 1979 .once in about three to six months I still have a bottle of beer. Try this method I am sure you can win.The thing Is to do it and not be worried whether you will be able to sustain it it is the apprehension of failure that most often make us fail

You can't,
because these habits in you are now controlled by your sub-concious mind. Repeated action of body are automated by this part of mind, like digestion, blood supply and millions others, over which we have litttle or no control.
Solution:
1. Simply just do it. Or
2. Follow the excercise
a) Constantly think the apposite ( Positive) of your habits
b) Try to do other things that you can do.. Think and just do them immediately, Like.. Thinking .. " I will take a round in my garden". Action: Just get up and simlpy do it. Really it works.
Follow them for a week.

Welcome to the real world! honey!
If we were "disciplined" to do all the things we know we should do, there would be no need for diet programs or exercise programs, or anything along those lines. That's why the marketing industries make mega bucks off of us because they know that a majority of people will not stick to anything for long and will buy their "quick fixes" or other products that are suppose to guarantee us "fast results" "rapid weight Loss",etc.
The only reason I get up early is because I have to, to get ready for work. I make up for it by sleeping in on the weekends.
I want to exercise too but the thought quickly passes as I reach for that chocolate bar I know I shouldn't have but do!

You need to get yourself motivated. If you begin by eating a really healthy diet you'll find that you'll begin waking earlier and earlier. You need some determination, try some gentle exercise to begin with, such as walking to the shops instead of driving or taking the bus, walk up stairs instead of taking the lift or escalator. Once you've done it for a while you'll want to do more and more. I wish you lots of best wishes.

Try to make yourself exercise daily. Vary the routine. I am very bad about exercising too, if I skip a day it all goes down the toiler for several weeks.
Perhaps you are not a morning person. Do your exercise in the evening. What reason is there to get up early anyway?

every other guy or girl have only 24 hours at their disposal and no extra time at extra cost. it is prioritising your habits quite simple. the order of preference is a research which is also the route cause for forgetfulness. so prioritise and say this is my prime objective and you shall achieve what is your prime motive and do justice to the cause of what you really want to do. the longing for what you want to do is very important. it should not be just suggestive to your mind but a compulsive non revocable declaration

I use to be like that too. But I had to look at the big picture of me try to better myself at life. Why would I get up early well to get to work on time. Why so that I can pay my bills and buy things I need and want. Why would I want to start exercising will i would do that because I want to better my health make my self look better. Give your self prep talks. And also push yourself to strive to do better.

Well they wouldnt be called habits if they were easy to break. LOL!!!
But seriously you must be willing and determined to break a habit. It is like reprogramming your mind. It wont be easy and it wont be quick but through time you will start adjusting to the new routien.
