Depending upon how quickly your nails grow, it can take anywhere from 5 days to 1 month. I play basketball on the regular and have encountered this situation before. I think the best thing to do is clean that blood out and just let it grow back. It will be so fresh and so clean before you know it.

Just have to wait. If you try to remove it you may damage the new nail that is growing underneath. It will eventually push the old one off. After your bath/shower when your nails are soft, you can file it or cut it gently close to the skin. It takes forever for a toenail to fall off. THEN you put it under your pillow and the toe-nail fairy will bring you a dollar! OH...sorry..that's another story!

I don't think there's anything you can do but wait.

You can't remove it and replace it with a new one. If your toe nail falls off or gets removed, you just have to wait for it to grow back.

Go see your doctor and see what he says about it.

See a doctor or leave it alone. The nail will eventually fall off and may or may not re-grow. I would really check with a doctor.

That happened to my sister... She just waited for it to disappear and eventually it disappeared :D She covered up her toenail by painting it.... so it wouldn't distract her :)

So just leave it alone, it'll return to normal in time :)
