Get a copy of the death certificatelis; it will state the cause of death. It is public information and it is usually only a small fee from the office that keeps the records to obtain a copy ($1-$5 dollars).

look in the obituary, sometimes they say how they died, and contact the family, if they know and you tell them that you are sorry for their loss, and ask how he/she died, they might tell, and if that doesnt work Autopsy Reports will say how
