Isreal and Lebanon are at peace they have agreed to work together to remove the Hezbollah TERRORIST threat to both countries. Isreal and Lebanon were never at war Isreal was conducting CounterTerrorist operations inside Lebanese land because the Lebanese Govt was incapable of handling it themselves. Would you say that Iraq and USA was at war because the USA is conducting anti-terror actions within Iraq? of course not.

In my view, Hezbollah started by taking two solders captive on disputed territory as a response to the hundreds of Lebanese soldiers in Israeli jails. That act should have been condemned.
Israels response to bombard an entire country was not appropriate and it served no purpose. Israel is probably worse off now with Hezbollah claiming victory and becoming more popular with the Lebanese people who had their family members killed by Israeli weapons.

Israels "present war" with Lebanon has actually been officially going on for almost 50 years now. This most recent flare up is simply that .. a recent flare up. The purpose? Most fundamental muslims want all of the jews to die and the nation of israel to be no more .. for their part, the jews would really rather that not happen.
Such a lovely part of the world, don't ya think?

Our government wanted a "dry" run of the bombing tactic that they want to try out on Iran. We did nothing to stop Israel from bombing all of the infrastructure of Lebanon including the power plants and roads all of which are against the Geneva conventions. It had NOTHING to do with Hezbollah.

This was an unprovoked aggression by Hezbollah against Israel. Unfortunately, the Lebanese people got caught in between....mostly because of Hezbollah's desire to use them as human shields.
