Right now, the Sears Tower in chicago is lime green. Is there a place that decodes what these colors stand for?

I can't say for the Sears Tower, but the Empire State Building gets lit up every night with different colors. In "New York" magazine under the events section, they explain what the colors mean. It's usually in honor of a holiday or anniversary.

Hey there, not sure but usually if there is some kind of big convention in town that has a color as a symbol or something they may light up buildings for them just to welcome them to their city. May try doing a yahoo search on sears tower lights. Good luck!

there is a building here in cincinnati that changes colors due to the weather...maybe they're doing something like that! Otherwise, I know that they have to have lights up there so that some dummy doesn't fly his plane to low.

I see that. I am in Chicago, too. I believe the green means "fair weather".
