My right eye started twitching a lot after i started using these drops and i also developed a very bad sinus infection around the same time and has not cleared up in spite of taking 10 days of antibiotics...i want to know if its related to my taking passiflora. thanks for any help i can get on this!

PASSIFLORA INCARNATA
Passion-flower

An efficient anti-spasmodic. Whooping-cough. Morphine habit. Delirium tremens. Convulsions in children; neuralgia. Has a quieting effect on the nervous system. Insomnia, produces normal sleep, no disturbance of cerebral functions, neuroses of children, worm-fever, teething, spasms. Tetanus. Hysteria; puerperal convulsions. Painful diarrhœa. Acute mania. Atonic condition generally present. Asthma, 10-30 gtt every ten minutes for a few doses. Locally, in erysipelas.

Head.--Violent ache as if top of head would come off-eyes felt as if pushed out.

Stomach.--Leaden, dead feeling after or between meals; flatulence and sour eructations.

Sleep.--Restless and wakeful, resulting from exhaustion. Especially in the feeble, infants and the aged. Insomnia of infants and the aged, and the mentally worried, and overworked, with tendency to convulsions. Nocturnal cough.

Dose.--Large doses of mother tincture are required-thirty to sixty drops, repeated several times.

I don't think it's from the passionflower. I took it for a couple of months in Hyland's Calms Forte, and I didn't have any bad reactions. I guess if you were allergic to it, maybe you'd have a temporary bad reaction, but it wouldn't directly cause a sinus infection. At worst, it would make your nose super-snotty and make you more susceptible to a sinus infection, but I think it was something you caught around the same time that made your sinuses infected. Make sure to tell your dr. that the sinus infection is still there--I've had a few terrible ones, and one course of antibiotics might not be enough to clear up the infection.
