There's no one answer to what you're asking here. If, for example, I stop to help someone on the side of the road, no, I don't expect anything in return. I'll probably never see that person again in my life. On the other hand, if a friend or acquaintance asks me to go out of my way to help them with some project they're working on then, yes, I expect to be repaid in kind.

If you're talking about sex, it should be a 2 way street, meaning both should do it. If you're talking about regular favors, I don't expect anything back, I do it because I want to.

When I do a "favor" it is just that, and requires no payback. If I lend someone money, or lend someone something ect ect... I expect to be paid back.

a favor is one thing (don't expect back) a loan is another...do expect back. However, it should be two-sided.
