Definitely. It is very distracting; I should know i do it all of the time. When the phone rings there is that instinctive reaction to look at the display and see who's calling. Like pavlov's dogs we've been conditioned by force of habit, but in this cas the habit endangers us and others.

It already is in the UK my friend, I am a Policeman, at the minimum you get a £50 fine if caught (and you do, often) the maximum of course is either getting killed by not concentrating on what you should be, driving! its hard enough without trying to negotiate a junction or a roundabout whilst holding a mobile to your ear, or causing a death of another just to answer a wrong number does seem a little exessive.........

yes, but i think it should not be enforced by police... just the public, if you see someone drift over their lane and find them on a cell phone just slow down a little then ram the edge of your front bumper to the edge of their back bumper and pit those fuckinbitches off the road

cell phones cannot ignite gasoline vapors.

No. If my little son calls me for emergency and I am in the car then I would have to answer the damn cellphone, wouldn't I? There should be some exceptions.
