i recently got into death metal. im looking for something in the likes of trivium/avenged sevenfold. something heavy very complex, thrash/death mixed with slightly more melodic, preferably love theme. best suggestion gets 10 points, thank you.

those of you who say a7x isnt death metal listen to the earlier albums, before shadows had torn his vocal chords. from the new album the only song somewhat worth listening to is bat country. but walking the fallen is by far their best album.

and complex was more in regard to trivium. a7x got great lyrics on the other hand.

Children of Bodom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best metal band ever.

Here's some more bands, I don't know if they fit your exact description, but they are awesome.

Black Label Society (songs Forever Down and Fire It Up), Bullet For My Valentine (Tears Don't Fall), Slipknot (Duality, Left Behind), Strapping Young Lad (Love?"), System Of A Down, Lacuna Coil (Our Truth, Swamped), Disturbed (Guarded, Down With The Sickness, Stupify), Cradle Of Filth (this is real vampire stuff, Swansong For A Raven is a good one).

Hope this helps!

You have a great taste in music.

Avenged Sevenfold is neither heavy or complex...listen to whomever suggested Type O Negative, that's a good place to start.

The best love theme album ever is Type O Negative's Bloody Kisses....it's definately melodic...i fell in love with it when i first heard it...it's so tragically sad but sadistically romantic. And the music freakin rocks.

a7x ISNT death metal....but theyre incridibly amazing.

i suggest Dream Theater, thats just the band for someone who likes it heavy, but also sometimes melodic, and it has fairly complex guitar solos. kinda old-school style, but also kinda modern...its VERY good.

i wouldnt call them thrash or death metal, because the only band that comes to my mind woud be SLAYER! and theyre so awesome, that they dont even bother with melodic.
