If she's truly 5 days away from her period and her ovulation has not been delayed for any reason (which she'd not be aware of until her period was late,) then chances are very high that the egg is not viable and she's unable to get pregnant at this time. Most women ovulate 12-16 days before their periods and the egg is only viable for about 24 hours after ovulation, thus her fertile window for this month likely ended nearly a week ago.

If you don't want her to get pregnant and she won't take the pill, there are many other forms of birth control available to you. Condoms are something you can take responsibility for and she can look into the patch, the depo-provera shot, sponges, diaphragms, an IUD... there's really no reason why you'd need to rely on the withdrawal method (which it sounds like you've been doing prior to today) which is not terribly reliable anyway.

First of all you should be using some kind of birth control if you do not want children. There are many options out there, foams, condoms, and many more. If your wife is regular, meaning her cycle comes every 28 days, she has probably all ready ovulated this month and therefore would not get pregnant. If the egg is there and the semen is there, oh well, it's not up to us anymore. There is nothing you can do to remove the semen, it's there. Chances are she will NOT get pregnant. Do yourself a favor,, get some condoms, or check out the many types of birth control. Good Luck

If it happen today she should take the 72 hour pill *the morning after pill* which is an emergency contraceptive to prevent pregnancy.
