I am a young professional who can't find any "fitting" business atire. I don't want to look trashy, but I don't want to look like my grandmother either. I'm proud to be younger than most others in my field, and I'd like to keep my style identity.

Well, I think it depends on the field you are currently employed. But my rule of thumb you should wear clothes that fit the body, not hug it. I love color, but I make sure not over do it so I will wear a loud colored top with a more subdued vest or skirt or pants. Makeup, is always fresh. I wear eyeliner and lipgloss/lip stain. I keep the jewelry to a minimum, ie. watch, bracelet and simple chain/necklace. As for shoes, I dont wear loud colored shoes to the office. I will wear sexy shoes though (I love the way a pair of sexy heels makes me feel)

Try separates instead of suits, unless you are required. You can mix and match the jackets and blazers with skirts and pants. It gives you a variety of looks without spending a fortune. Get some really cute blouses and tops to throw under them and you can keep your own style while at work.
Try stores like Coldwater Creek, Ann Taylor, Talbot's, Wet Seal, Chico's, Christopher & Banks, Deb, or Cato's. Just look in stores you would normally shop. Most of them have at least one or two pieces that you could pick up. If you've got the money to spend on your wardrobe, Nordstrom's, Neiman Marcus, and Saks have the latest trends in business wear. You could always just browse their sites for ideas.

A black pencil skirt with a big red belt and white victorian like blouse with your hair puled back in to a pompadour bun. Maybe red pumps black to be safe.

Slacks, skirts and blouses can be assembled to be professional and mix-matched. Just make sure not to wear tops too revealing, pants too tight and skirts too short and take off those damn flip-flops!

Do it with color & accessories. Suits are fine, but wear a conservatively cut but unique top underneath it or a more updated cut.

Hmm...I think Banana Republic will be perfect for you, not too expensive, but it's elegant.
