Stupid questions are often very obvious...it takes real art to create a false question that comes across as a real problem. The trouble is...people here ARE trying to be helpful. When bored people sit and invent problems, it defeats the purpose of this site and it really says more about the asker than it does the answerer. IF you think it is funny to write false questions that get thoughtful replies, you have a real problem you should be asking about...When people insist on wasting kind people's time with this kind of junk, when people insist on bashing others in the guise of a question, and when people insist that they do it out of boredom, I say to them, GET A LIFE! Answering a question to get 2 points is hardly a productive way of spending ones time. I will reach level seven shortly, and NONE of it has been by just getting 2 points! Surely there are better things to do with time than waste both yours and the answerers! This is nothing short of juvinile and ridiculous. Believe it or not, there are people here who have very real problems that, in some cases, are life altering. To answer a person like that with a flipant reply is not only unkind, it is downright cruel. I, for one, am not cruel. I find it very hard to respect those who operate in this fashion. And it is certainly NOT something I would brag about. AS I said, stupid wastes of time say more about the asker than the answerer. The anonimity here prompts this kind of behavior. I really wonder what would happen if EVERYONE here had a public face. Perhaps that is worth considering. Good luck

Yeah, you know Mark sometimes I'll give a smart Alec kind of answer to a dumb question, but the real deal here is if you read enough, there are some people here, mostly young people, who are really searching for their way in the world, and they really need some help. And they have to sort through the really dumb stuff that Yahoo won't sort out, not the funny stuff, but the disruptive and disrespectful stuff. I worry sometimes that a kid who is suffer ring because he has no support from family and friends comes here looking for other gay and lesbian people for that support, and all he sees is somebody talking about smearing fecal matter in peoples faces...what is he going to do?

So yes, some people really do take what happens here seriously. There probably is a better place and a better way to get answers, but they are here...and I don't like the idea of sending them away with a negative attitude.

I sure wish Yahoo would get serious about monitoring this whole system. They created this monster, it is their responsibility.

It depends on the question. And I do take into consideration the various biases that different people might have. I do find some of the answers very entertaining though, but I doubt that I would attempt to joke about something that was drop dead serious to another person. I would say a sizable no. of answers to my questions, at least, have been very thought out. And I appreciate those who have taken the time and energy to reply to my inquiries.

Most of the time it's pretty easy to tell when someone is being serious or just joking around in Answers. When they are being serious & topic is interesing I'd give a serious opinion. If they're joking then it's entertainment.

But I do like Answers- at times it's educational.

I realize this is a form of entertainment (make that "trolling") for a lot of people, but I refuse to play along on that.

I only answer serious questions, and only give serious answers.

I think this is a great place to learn how other people think, and to help others with questions or problems they might have.

Just my opinion.

If questions r stupid, then I don't answer 'em, some do to gain the 2 pts which is actually useless and a waste of time (like what goldwing110083 above said). People do ask serious questions especially fr the GLBT community, then I do answer them the best I can.

If it is a legitimate and serious questions, I will say what's on my mind to help. I like reading the idiotic questions, but don't give them the thrill of a response

Some situations deserve serious answers. Others deserve no answer at all. And like you said...some of it is HIGHLY entertaining! LOL!!!

If your stupid enough to ask a sensitive personal question in a public forum , then you can expect to get a public opinion , not just other gays telling you that your special. Its a reality check.
