It depends. There are many websites that will tell you the average weight gain, but those are only averages. Weight gain will depend on many factors including genetics.

The key thing to ask yourself is whether or not you are eating correctly for you and your child. If you are eating healthy and the proper amount, you are probably doing fine. If you are still way off the mark, I would ask an advice nurse just in case.

yes. It's what is normal for you then it's ok. I am at 16 weeks and haven't gained a pound yet...Dr says everything is just fine. Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting" by Heidi Murkoff. It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

Oh yes it is. I lost weight with my pregnancies so in total i only maybe gained 10 lbs my whole pregnancy. You will gain alot more when the baby really starts growing. Remember that it is normal to gain anywhere from 15-30lbs in a healthy pregnancy. Good Luck and have a safe and fast delivery.

Look alot of people say to gain 15- 30 but that isn't mandatory for a healthy baby.........Eat as you would , maybe just 250 calories over a normal prepregant diet and you will see that the baby gets all that it needs ............I lost 32 lbs with my pregancy and never gained anything. I was normal weight before. My baby was fanstatic and is very healthy........Just don't get nervous casue the baby does all the work just enjoy being the incubator as they say.....Good luck and God Bless you and your litttle one..........Hey and if you are having a girl let me know........Girls make you gain less and boys make you gain more.........I lost with my girl but gained 80 lbs with my boy so it's different for everyone and every situation

i wouldnt suggest "what to expect when expecting" my midwife told me that i could read anything i wanted but to avoid that one. it has some good info but has a lot of bullocks in it too.. you may feel stupid buying it but i found 'pregnancy for dummies' to be very good and informative.
i'm 37 weeks pregnant and i dont think i had gained much more then that at 5 months. but now i've gain 25lbs from my prepregnancy weight. if your worried about it ask your doctor or try eating things with more protien in it.

Normalish. Some women don't gain a lot of weight during pregnancy, some due. Trust me, though, by the end you'll be a good deal bigger.

Your weight gain will not directly effect the baby, the baby will take the nurishment it needs from you. Low weight gain isn't odd, but if it worries you, eat abit more, just make sure it's healthy foods.
