Yes, Muslims do have a separate calendar, based on the Lunar (moon) cycle as opposed to our sun-based one. The reason they're "behind" is that their calendar starts with Muhammad's emigration to Medina, which happened several centuries after Jesus.

Islam uses a Lunar Calendar called Hijri.

Christians use the Gregorian calendar based on 12 months.

Yes. In begins in the year 622 of the common era, and every year of that calendar is shorter then the Christian or Jewish one. That calendar was common among the authorities of the Ottoman (Turkish) Empire and other Islamic states.

Yes muslims have a calendar based on the planets. The problem is 99% of muslims have their heads in Uranus. So don't have a clue what day it is.
