my sister spilled a redish color nail polish on my carpet which is a light tan color. the stain has been there for a while and i need some help on what i can do to get rid of the stain. shampooing my carpet works a little bit but it only helps to fade it. it's still very visable.

If you have tried soap and water. Use alcohol just a little on the spot and white detergent with no bleaches in warm water or mix Vinegar in water.

go to walmart and look in the auto section and get oxy magic for carpets. it works on everything. you can follow the directions. but i sprayed it, let it soak for just a minute, then ook a dish towel and scrub it until the stain was out. scrub until you have picked up all the cleaner. and that is it, if you need to do it again till it comes out. my daughter spilled polish too. i used the oxy magic on my car to get all the coke stains out. it work really good. so itryed it on the carpet with polish and it work.

If the stain has dried it may not work but try using pure acetone. Not nail polish remover but pure acetone, the kind they use in salons. You can get it at a beauty supply or nail salon.

ok what I usually do it soak it in nail polish remover. then I scrub it for a bit till the carpet starts to shed. Then there should be a very thin thin layer of color which you probably can faintly see, to trim it. up i said it. Trim in...

you should be good to go!

Try a cleaner called greased lightning. it's really cheap you should be able to find it anywhere. spray the stain, let it soak in and wipe with a damp sponge. you will probably have to do this a few times...Good Luck!!
