I am male in late 20's. I just wanted to know what the norm is for a male patient. Do the majority of the males go to male doctors or the other way around. Or does it even matter.. I called my insurance operator and they looked up a couple of doctors that were both female. I was to call the doctors office and confirm if they are taking new patients before switching PCP's. I don't know who else to ask. Thanks for you guidance.

I worked for a female physician, and she had an equal amount of male and female patients. It's just a matter of what you are comfortable with. If you would be more comfortable with a male provider, there's nothing wrong with that, either. You can always schedule a check up, just to get to know the physician, and if you are not comfortable, you can always switch.
Hope this helps!

Just pick the person you would be most comfortable with......sometimes people like to have a PCP of the same gender because they can empathize with gender specific medical problems.
