upload your whole hard drive to an online server????? that would take forever, when I'm working on a computer I would either copy files to a different hard drive or burn them to a cd/dvd if you consider that one (1) gb of data takes about 4 hours to upload and 2 hours to download youre loking at 6 hours per gig times however big youir hdd is that could take weeks of time,
how big is your budget? you ould go buy an extermal drive kit and a cheap hdd for under 100 dollars, and have a bigger hard drive at that, copy your important files to that and relode them when you're done.
the best solution is to go buy a new hdd, put it in your computer, install windows and copy your files from the old hdd onto the clean new one, and never risk losing your important files, not to mention that if something goes wrong, you still have you're old hdd as a backup. and when youre all done you can put your swap files and temporary internet files on you're old drive

First of all, don't click on that link above me. It's NOT from any Yahoo administrator, since there are no Yahoo administrators. Secondly, it's going to take you longer to upload all of your data to a site, then download it again from that site once you've reformatted, than it would have taken to just download it again the "normal" way.

Well, you could upload all your stuff to some kind of webspace (google for file hosting sites), or use the space usually given by your isp.
Or you could use GSpace, a Firefox extension that allows you to store files on Gmail's enormous server space.
But a simpler way would be to burn copies to a cd or dvd.

you could keep photos, movies, information, etc. to a USBcontinual. yet you could no longer keep classes or something it rather is put in on the computer. in actuality, reformatting is wiping out each and every thing and replaces it with a clean slate.

If you put all of your files on a site, how will you connect to the internet once you reformat your hard drive?

If you upload it then you will need to download it again! (yep that was a stupid question).
I would suggest buying an external hard drive to put your music onto while your reformetting your drive. Instead of wasting someones bandwith and your time.
Even better though I would suggest if you didn't realise that I suggest that you shouldn't be refomatting your computer!
For more infomation I have included my webiste
