OK here we go. I'm 9 weeks pregnant and am having some major anxiety issues. I think for the worse. I'm worried that something will go wrong or is wrong. My first appoitment went very well. I saw the baby :-) and the heartbeat. However, I am scared that when I go back they will give me bad news and or tell me there is no heartbeat. I'm so annoyed by all this. And I have no idea how to make this go away. Has anyone else been in fear that there baby is gone or won't make it or something will go wrong?? HELP! G

I was constantly worrying when I was pregnant with my 22-month-old son. I mostly worried that he was just going to die in the womb. Get "What to Expect When You're Expecting." It has lots of great questions and answers, including something along the lines of 'everybody worries, and the vast majority of babies turn out just fine.' Also, I had two incidents during pregnancy when I thought something terrible was happening, both times because he was barely moving (he was otherwise extremely active). Once was when I had a cold and the other was just a couple of days before he was born. Apparently if you're sick or just about to have the baby, he may be very sluggish. I know it's easy to say, but try to stay positive and enjoy your pregnancy as much as possible. And get that book, if you haven't already. It's very reassuring.

I went through the exact same thing! I was SO worried that something was going to be wrong with the baby, or with me. I kept telling my fiance "I think something is wrong, I just know it!" When I got my blood tests back, they said my baby had an increased risk for Down Syndrome. I was terrified! But then they did an ultrasound, and everything was fine, and he doesn't have it.

The anxiety is just one of those things that goes along with pregnancy. Once you get to your second trimester, you will feel more at ease...at least I did, and everyone I know who's had a child did. Don't worry too much about the baby (as hard as that sounds) because stress can lead to problems. Be calm and go get a prenatal massage! They help :)
