It is painful, it is hard work, it is like leaning on a great big rock and trying to push it over. It seems impossible.
But I disagree with the 'worse' bit. There are loads of things worse than childbirth. Giving birth to a baby is a most amazing and wonderful experience, there is so much joy at the end of it.
I would only say there is nothing worse than childbirth if it went horribly wrong, for mother or baby!

Every woman's experience with childbirth is different. I've given birth twice. And the first time was so exhasting and I was usless for weeks afterwards, but the second time, (which was two weeks ago today actually) wasn't that bad at all! I enjoyed it, and when or if I get pregnant again I'm kinda looking forward to the whole experience again! For your girlfriend, childbirth may really have been terrible. But if she hasn't experienced it, then she should really keep her mouth shut about it!

Although childbirth is not an easy thing but everyday such thing happen and its parts and parcel of life. The pain will eventually go off.
In life there's a lot more things worse than that. Have you been to a war torn country? What's on our mind? We will think what should we have for dinner? where to go this weekend?...etc. Do you know that they live their days by counting? They wouldn't know whether they can still live to see the next sun rise. Their life are so worthless compare to us. Over here a single death the authority will investigate and be put in the news. The deceased will be buried properly. But over there they will be left anywhere to rot or eaten by animal. They never had a taste of burger but a taste of bomb dropping near them.

Its time you should ask your gf to widen her exposure.

There are plenty things worse than child birth and I hate it when women use this "but I gave birth" bull crap. Think about it just a little, having kids (I have 3) is wonderful and the pain lasts a couple of minutes.

Let's think, worse things than giving birth, dying of cancer slowly way before your time, having any kind of disease that requires constant medication and treatment, being abused by somebody... I think that the world is full of things that are worse than childbirth and your girlfriend is a complaining little baby....

has she had a child? If her experience was horrible than she has every right to say that. All I have to relate to is my own experience. I exercised (Step Aerobics) my entire pregnancy and walked every day too. The nurses and the midwife both told me I'd be in labor for 12 hours because it was my first child. From the time I went into labor until the time he was born was 1 hour and 40 minutes...I pushed 3 times and out he came...I was even making jokes for the midwife to "go long" hahaha! Seriously the coolest thing ive ever done!!! He's almost 9 and he's the best thing that's ever happend to me. Everyone's story will be different...but I really believe because I never stopped exercising that my body was ready for it! Don't know if that was helpful...sorry it was so lengthy :)

How many kids does your girlfriend have? How would she know? Besides, things can always get worse. Nobody really wants anything worse than childbirth, but it can happen.

It's not true. I had my cruciate ligament replaced in my right knee. It was like having a white hot poker shoved straight through my kneecap.

Also, bringing children up is ten times worse than childbirth! However I did have both my kids by emergency c-section (but laboured both times) so perhaps I'm not qualified to comment ...

It's quite possible that there is nothing worse than childbirth, to your girlfriend. That type of statement is pure opinion. To another person, there might be nothing better. To me, there is nothing worse than a good swift kick to the... well, you know. Everyone has their own "nothing worse than."

It is said that child birth is the most painful thing a person can endure (other than professional tourture). Doctors have said that childbirth is rivaled by passing a kidney stone but the kidney stone is still not quite as painfull
