A female guppie will get VERY fat just before she has babies. be ready, or your other fish will eat all the babies.

pregnancy or bloat or intestinal disease may be cause of fatness.
i highly suggest buying pepso food for your fish. this food should be given EVERY time you introduce a new fish into your aquarium. it kills and flushes bad intestinal organisms out of fish, thus preventing the spread to other fish. if you see a fish that appears bloated you may feed pepso. it seems to me it costs about the same as any other fish food. good luck.
