I mean... they obviously HAVE a computer. A quick search gives me the answer to a majority of the questions asked, so whats the point in posting a question that Google or Yahoo search can answer for them?

I actually haven't given it thought until you asked it. Maybe they don't know how to search.

I ask questions to see if ppl know the answer. I am always surprised by the sheer patheticity of some answers I see. (Like gravity stopping if the world stops spinning).

As to your question I don't think it's laziness. In that case they wouldn't even bother to type. I think they want to interact, get attention, see how yahoo questions work, get opinions, start a relationship or just plain see how the land "lies".

Its a lazy thing i think, or no time thing, people post a question and within minutes sometimes even seconds they have answers to there questions and they didnt have to take time out of there day and search for it other people did it for them, and this YAHOO! Answers thing is kinda fun!:-)

Lazy...a lot of people like to be spoon fed everything they know...it takes effort to look something up...it takes less effort to post it here and then dozens of people will either look it up for you, or share the knowledge they already have...

....which is why I often suggest the asker to do a search themselves...or will post them a link, to at least read what *I* found...

Why people go the the bar when they have beer at home?
Why do you go to the movies when you have a home theatre at hme?
Social Communication is a very important to humans. Even you find communication important; if you couldn't express your opinion here, you will be now hanging yourself from your bedpost.

Must be because it's fun to get in touch with other people... Google is so impersonal! ;)

And sometimes you don't see the obvious even if it's right in front of your eyes, until the moment someone points it out to you.

It is just to see what people say.

there's a feeling u get when ppl answer ur questions, as opposed to just google it. most of the questions asked, its not that it can't be googled, its more like knowin the way ppl will react to them, knowin ppl's opinions. and wat i like most is u get to know wat really hangs on on ppl's mind and the things humans think about and u'll find similarities and questions u urself have asked before....anywayz i looooooveeess yahoo answers.
