Whenever I talk to someone I can't look in their eyes and I find myself obliged to cut the eye contact. I don't know what is wrong with me. This causes me much problems and I find myself unable to socialize or even talk to people. I won't go to a shrink for many reasons. Can anybody help me?

In body language terms this indicates you are lying about something. I'm not accusing you- I'm letting you know how others perceive you and that you need to build trust with people. Folks won't trust you if you don't look them in the eye at least once or twice in about a two minute span. If you have a significant other, sit down and have staring contests. Look directly into their eyes and see how long you can go before blinking. If no significant other is available, a trusted friend or relative will do- as long as you're comfortable. Practice until you CAN look people in the eye. You will be trusted more and you won't look suspicious when talking with someone.
Have a great day and hope this helps!

P.S. Don't start staring at everyone if you take this advice. You'll look like a zombie! lol

Generally, people who can't look me in the eye are trying to deceive me or outright lying to me and I don't trust them.
