It's just a personal preference. Some people like it everyday, others occassionally, others never. The only time make-up should not be worn is when going to bed for the night.

This varies depending on the type of makeup you wear. If you wear a sheer, water-based, hypoallergenic foundation (such as those produced by Almay or Neutrogena), you can get away with wearing that foundation every day and not experiencing a break out. Heavier, oil-based foundations are more likely to cause acne.
If this question has more to do with etiquette than with skincare, you can wear makeup anytime. It is never really inappropriate. Lighter, more natural makeup colors are preferable for the daytime, and if it's night time you can go a bit more dramatic with your lipstick and eye shadow/liner.
A lot of people choose to wear makeup that covers their flaws but subtly accentuates their features -- the trick is to look like you're not actually wearing any makeup, that your skin is in fact that clean and rosy. So, no, makeup doesn't require a special occasion. The purpose is mostly to make you feel more confident in your appearance.

Most make-up...should not be worn. It is a combination of chemicals that can adversely affect your skin and your health. almost 90% of the (near) 11,000 chemicals passed for use in cosmetics and skin care over the last 40 odd years have never been fully tested for safety - and many ingredients are KNOWN to be harmful.
This harm ranges from:
- clogged pores - causing spots, blackheads. whiteheads and other septic skin problems
- triggering allergies - and even causing acne
- causing irritation/sensitization
- mutagenic effects - than can cause genetic damage (which means NOT JUST you affected but also maybe your kids or kids kids or even further down the family line)
- carcinogenic - can act as cancer causing agents
To name just a few...
You COULD wear make-up every day - but only if you choose a safe brand - one that is preferably 100% natural and which contains ingredients tried, tested and used over many hundreds (even 1000's) of years and known to be beneficial to the skin.
Preferably use only organic cosmetics and follow a complementary organic skin care regime which means also use only natural, safe ingredients. And rememeber - if the product does not carry an official certification from a known independent body - it most probably is NOT truly organic. (Truly Organic products only use ingredients produced organically - so no pesticide, herbicides, growth promoters, chemical fertilizers residues will be present in the products either).
Using safe, natural, organic nourishing products will not only feed and replenish your skin - keeping it youthful and supple - it will greatly reduce your exposure to a wide array of potentially dangerous chemicals - REMEMBER you skin actually absorbs around 50% (half!) of the stuff you put on it...so make sure it is safe! Choose make-up products that are as safe as food...because your skin literally 'eats them'!
Follow this advice - and you can safely and with noticeable benefits - wear make-up every day.

Everyday and on every occasion because I can't live with. My makeup is: heavy normal or sparkly gold eyeshadow with red near my brows plus heavy eyeliner and those really long thick feathered eyelashes. I love drawing stars and other designs around my eyes in red and outlining them with sparkly black eyeshadow. Sometimes I mix red and gold to create this beautiful golden orange hue with the black eyeliner applied like egyptians used to... only way more wild and extravagant. My lipstick is either a matching pink for my lips or a nice vamp red or black. (I like black eyeshadow too) I like to put on a bit of blush and foundation.
That's just me. Other people have their preferences. Like a lot of people choose to wear makeup that covers their physical flaws but subtly or drastically accentuates their best physical features ( the whole idea is to look like you're not actually wearing any makeup) . Logically speaking, makeup doesn't have to be worn only on a special occasion but it can make you feel more confident in your appearance. But you can wear makeup even everyday. Especially lighter, more natural makeup colors that are preferable for the daytime, and if it's night time you can go a bit more dramatic with your lipstick and eye shadow/liner.
It also depends on the type of makeup you wear. If you wear a sheer, water-based, hypoallergenic foundation (such as those produced by Almay or Neutrogena), you can get away with wearing that foundation every day and have a break out. Heavier, oil-based foundations are more likely to cause acne.

It all depends on the person. Some jobs require you to wear it everyday ie cosmetic counters etc. Also some people wear it everyday for a confidence boost. I think that everyone wears make up when they go out on the town, often more than they usually do

It's a personal preference, some women refuse to leave the house without a full face of 'slap' on.
Personally, I wear a little almost every day (just a bit of tinted moisturiser, eyeliner and mascara)
If I'm having a night on the tiles, then I use the heavy duty war paint, lol.
It doesn't matter, so long as you always remember to take it off at the end of the day.

This is a question have been asking for thousands of years and the answers are numerous. If you cannot bear what you see in the mirror every morning or you have chronic zits, cake it on baby. Otherwise if you are happy to live with what you see , only make up on that special date when you really want it, a hangover morning and to attend funerals

Every day whether staying in or leaving the house. Very few people look good without a scrap of it on their face and there's probably not anyone in the world who doesn't look ten times better when they're wearing it. It should come hand in hand with getting dressed and brushing your hair. End of story.

Really depends on the person. Having worked in the cosmetic industry for years, I typically wear it everyday. I would say keep it as natural as possible - just "enhanced". It's cool to play with if you're going somewhere special. But never wear it because you think you NEED to.

It's only been recently that I've been wearing it every day. I look fine without it. I've just been trying to work on putting together a more professional look and makeup adds to it. If you're going to wear it every day, make sure you have a good cleanser to get rid of it at the end of the day. You don't want to clog up your skin and start other problems.
