So I asked this question yesterday, and it wasted 5 points because everyone's answer was: The truth or Good stories about good people.
First off, reporters try to tell the truth. It is really hard when other people lie to us. Do you know the truth about all subjects all the time? Neither do we.

Second, I am a features writer, so I write about new businesses, exceptional people, and enterprise stories, like: "Building an outdoor fireplace" or "The benefits or geothermal energy"

So I would like some really creative ideas.

I would love to see some stories about how to overcome many of our nations problems (international too for that matter). I hear about problems on the news all day long.... unemployment for example. I would like to hear some professional opinions on how to overcome it, what can an individual do to beat the employment problem, give us some resources. I dont just want to hear about the news, I want to hear about the solutions. I guess what I am trying to say is that I dont just want to understand the news and the issues I want to know how to resolve it. Take it to the next level.

Yes, as mentioned before, It would be good to see the truth for a change, but that is not possible. If you were to write a feature on something vaguely controversial, you would find that if it didn't follow editorial policy it would be rejected. You would also find that editorial policy was controlled mainly by the advertisers, and definitely not by the truth.

Try writing a story about

The coincidence of a simulation exercise of bombs in tube stations on the same day that bombs went off.- 7th July

Or, if you are American, the coincidence of war games simulating a large jet flying into a tall building taking place on the same day that a large jet was purported to fly into a building - 9/11

Or why not do a feature which covers the private lives of each of the 24 people who were recently arrested on the Airline Plot scam.

Or if you are into energy, write about why the electric car has disappeared, or why zero point energy is not being promoted.
I'd love to see the results, but I doubt if they would be published.

Objectivity would be nice, but what do people want to hear?

A few days ago they showed here in the news a copy of the Israeli news about their war, the Israeli news was telling;
"In this war until now there were 420 people killed..."

People that make news should think a lot about the words they use, and they should not judge but be objective and give the people they write about a change to talk for themselves.

In London some people were arrested, being accused of terrorism, whom from the press talked with them?
Is it proven they are terrorists?
So stop calling them terrorists until its proven..
