SO many reasons....hormonal changes, primarily! Many thingd - such as daily, mild exercise, decreasing caffeine consumption, taking vitamin and mineral supplements, can assist, in making this a less "sensitive" time for you. If your doctor approves, a good COMPLETE spectrum "B" vitamin supplement, and perhaps a soy protein might benefit you, tremendously. **Also, try to remember to sleep with a comfortable bra on, to prevent unecessary jarring and tenderness. Be well.

It is a time when our systems are 'down' and we are more sensitive. I believe that if at all possible, women should take it easy for the first few days of their period every month. It's a time of hormonal swings. A lot of us are dangerous then.
