I used to play in a resident band in a nightclub in the 1960's and met many stars from those days. Most of them were ordinary people just like us. One or two thought they were somebody special but they were generally unliked. Later I became a bank manager in a wealthy area and had some famous clients. Amongst those I met, and bear in mind this is in England,were:-
The Beatles (Wonderful guys. not at all pretentious)
Tom Jones (Guy next door)
Shirrley Bassey (awful)
Dusty Springfield (arrogant)
Gerry Marsden (nice guy)
Jerry Lee Lewis (Mad as a hatter)
Del Shannon (insecure)
Solomon King (thought he was)
Bob Monkhouse (Excellent bloke)
The Original Drifters with Ben E King (set fire to my guitar accidentally)
Melanie Sykes (Extremely nice woman)
Denis Irwin (Down to earth)
Lee Sharpe (Nice guy)
Paul Dikov (Couldn't understand him)
P J Proby (gave him a snack 'cos he was drunk and knocked my drink out of my hand)
Van Morrison (Irish)
Jools Holland (Excellent musician)
Once was to meert Prince Phillip (Duke of Edinburgh) but I was late and he left before I got there. Saw him again though.
and many more
