Luckily, Molly babies pretty much care for themselves. I would take precautions by keeping them in a tank of their own with a gentle filter. Turn down power filters to their lowest settings and cover the intakes with a fine net or quilt batting. Air-driven sponge filters are best for fry tanks. They are gentle, biologically stable, and even provide a bit of a food source for small fry with the bacteria and other creatures that make their homes on the sponge. You can feed baby Mollies finely crushed flake food; they aren't very picky. You might want to keep a snail or few in the tank to help clean up what they miss. Water changes will be neccessary to ensure proper Molly growth. It would be best to change 25% every day, but if you can't manage that, 30% a few times a week will suffice.

I would say no.

But it would also depend on the size of the bowl you have them in.

The more fish you have in one bowl the more oxgyen they take out of the water. If the bowl is to small then they will run out of air very soon. Not only that but your tank will get gross build up in it that should be removed everyday, that is what the filter is for.

The bigger fish will eat the fry (baby fish). I would say that you need to get a bigger tank, put the parents in the big tank and keep the fry in the bowl. But I still don;t like the idea of them not having any air being pumped into the tank.

Now the heater is not really needed enless the tank drops below 70 degress. I use one in the winter just to be on the safe side. But the tank water is almost the same as the air temp in the troom. So if the rooms temp changes a lot then yes I would get one but if not then you are fine until the winter months.

I hope this has helped... Good Luck
