I would say respect, treating her as an equal partner, honesty, being trustworthy & reliable, kindness, patience, a good listener (not problem solver), jumping up to help with dishes & chores w/o being asked... gifts from the heart mean more than those from a store.
Ask any long-term happily married woman what her definition of romance is... 99% will not have chocolates or flowers on their list.

I'm a female and I've never really liked chocolate that much so it wouldn't be a good gift for me, but, if you are going to get some, buy the good ones. The cheap ones taste like plastic and the good ones should slowly melt in your mouth and have a nice creamy taste.
At least this is what I've heard.

Chocolates are not the way to go. After about 4 pieces, they start to think about getting fat. What they like better than sweet things, are shiny things. If you want a girls heart, give her something shiny.

Any chocolate given with thoughtfulness or love.
If you chunk a candybar at them.....thats not gonna get them to love you.
If you have a box of chocolates sent to them, thats the best way to tell them you are interested. Godiva is the best.
