That depends on how mature the child is, and whether or not he or she is easily influenced by others. I allowed my daughter to watch it when she was 12, and we discussed it after-wards.

Most kids would not be interested in the Godfather, and it's rated R.

I think I saw it for the first time whe I was 5 or so and I loved it. It is still one of my favorite movies, I've seen it too many times to count. My daughters (9 & 10) find it very boring though.

Just as with any movie, old enough to keep up with the plots,
dialog, & the subtitles. And keep the actors story on par.
You must be able to watch w/o asking ansinine questions.

It's pretty violent, but a lot of movies are violent these days. The dialog needs to be understood to make to movie really good, so I say about 13.

old enough to comprehend what is going on. Its like a soap opera of events. you must have the capacity to keep up. Its one of the best movies ever made, and should be viewed by all.

THE GODFATHER TRILOGY IS RATED R AND IT IS VERY VIOLENT AND HAS LANGUAGE IN IT.IT'S ALSO VERY LONG SO I REALLY DON'T THINK IT IS FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN. I WOULD SAY MY BROTHER IS 14 AND HE WATCHED IT WITH ME AND HE LIKED IT .SO I THINK 13 AND UP WOULD BE FINE.

Definately 18!!!

I love my horror films with loads of blood & guts, but this film is different - it is full of mindless violence - which is different.

I would never watch all of it. I fell asleep & woke up when my hubby was watching it, I had nightmares for days :-)

I would say about 14, when you can deal with violence and have some patience to listen to conversation.
