I honestly think that they believe the terrorists are decreasing in numbers. There is a person on this site, whom I will not name, that really thinks Bush is responsible for no terrorists attacks on US soil in the past 5 years. They are angrier now more than ever because of the war in Iraq and because of the Israel-Lebanon conflict. Trust me, terrorism is growing. People really need not get cocky over 5 years of "safety" rather they should be questioning why these people want to kill us in the first place.

If we are in Iraq and occupying the land and setting up bases and embassy's isn't it safe to assume that we are being made to look like we want to take over the middle east and if the "Terrorist" can use this logic to talk to the people that are under attack and who have lost family members to this war, wouldn't you think these are good recruiting tools for future terrorist. If I wanted to recruit people that what I would say. I think there is no question that there are more terrorist now then before Bush got into office. In Saudi Arabia they are teaching kids in school with text books on why to hate Americans but you don't see us messing with them. We need to get to the route of the problem here. Band-aids are not going to fix this problem and if you think you can kill all terrorist in the world you are a band-aid. I want to be the cure

Bush's policies are decreasing the number of terrorist. Haven't you paid attention to how many terrorists have been captured or killed? When's the last time you actually saw OBL in a video? Al Queda's leadership has been crippled. Al Zarquri is 6 feet under. Saddam is removed and his boys are dead. Hezbollah has been crippled and we will never know how many were killed because they are cowards that won't wear uniforms and hide amongst civilians. Arafat is dead. Bush's policies are working for those who understand the significant threat posed by Iran and militant muslims.

While our anti-terrorism policies may decrease the number of terrorists in the immediate term, our Iraq War and our foreign policy in general are inspiring more in the long run.

Bush is probably increasing terrorism, though I have no off the hand sources to prove it. Take a look at the amount of domestic terror activities that have happened over the past five years, and the terror over the 1990s. If you increase terror 4 fold and catch half of it, you've still increased it. It's similar to poking your finger in an ant hill because one bit you. Sure, you'll kill a few ants, but ultimately you'll piss them off and wind up with more bites than than you started with.

I'm a Democrat, but I agree Bush is decreasing terrorism. He is, however, going about it the wrong way.
He's not decreasing the amount of terrorists, but he is making America a bit more terror-proof. He's just making it freedom-proof at the same time...

I think they are exposing extremist that want to die for their extremist cause. They are also giving these terrorist the opportunity to fight against our soldiers, instead of our civilians. These people are fanatics and hated us before Bush and will hate us long after Bush. Blaming Bush is ridiculous, especially in Iraq. They never protested Sadam, were they OK that Sadam killed more Iraqis than have died in the war to date? Let's stop asking why they hate us so much and kill the ones who want to die.

Honestly - I don't know. What I 'think' bout the effects of his policies doesn't matter, if I don't actually 'know' the facts about them.
I don't believe you know the actual effects either. Nor can you know what the population of terrorists would have been if Bush had followed other policies.
You see, what you or I 'think' doesn't matter if it is not based on fact.

Oh yes I'm sure that destabilizing wide areas of the middle-east and killing loads of people there has really helped. If Americans came and killed my children, my wife, my parents, my neighbours, my whole bloody neighbourhood and half of the people in my country I'd never want to fight back, I'd say oh haven't we been naughty let's carry on living in poverty while western powers exploit our natural resources.
Think about it this way - were there more terrorists before Bush hijacked America?
