It is just a word used to say like - oh my gosh or that's too much. It does not have a real meaning. We use to use it more back home in the norther part of the US like around Minnesota. Other words are like ishda or oyva. Don't real know of the spellings either.

my great gran\dma used to say that as she tooled around the kitchen farting and making gravy at christmas and thanksgiving

Uffdah.... its just a silly little sarcastic reply that is said when someone else does or says something that is completely obvious.. but to them its a whole knew thing. jsut like saysgn "duh"
