I'm 33 and I agree. Maybe our parents felt this way and may still do, I know mine do. Maybe we just finally grow up and mature and everybody else still needs time to catch up. I look at my kids, and think......god my grandkids are going to be nothing more than primates if that (and they have been taught well). Maybe it takes 15 or so years for it all to soak in on them. My kids are not by any means idiots, but one of them sure acts like one. The other child has more common sense than most 20 year olds.

lol i would believe that generally people have stayed the same. Sure there is a generation gap where people your age (30's) would think the thing people my age (teens) are weird. Although I believe that works both ways considering culture is changing. For example, my generation is more dependent on technology while yours might have been something else. All this shapes how we act and probably distinguishes the gap. I believe that with time/age and maturity, the generations will blend and be more accepting of one anothers differences. Hopefully in 10 years we'll understand eachother a little better, and laugh at those younger and "dumber" than us.

I hear what you are saying but I don't think people are really getting dumber they are just acting dumb. I know a lot of people that act really dumb and do dumb things but if you really sit down and talk to them you find that they are actually really intelligent. Why anyone would want to act dumb is beyond me but what can I do.
Not to be mean or rude (forewarning cuz I know how my words can come out sometimes) but this question has nothing to do with marriage or divorce. Is it just me or is this not the marriage and divorce section? I mean, if you are going to talk about people and call them idiots at least do it in the right section because people can turn around and say the same about you for this. Sorry if I offended you by saying this ;).

No it's not just you people really are stupider today. I think they are so busy trying to act like celebrities who make a living portraying idiots. It is not cool to be considered intelligent. We have gotten lazier with computers and Internet. We want everything to come easy so we have no appreciation for hard work. Parents are doing a disservice by allowing this with the next generation.

Nope. The majority of people are pretty much just as dumb as they ever been. Remeber those people in the past who believed the world was flat, or that the sun revolved around the Earth. Or even the men in the past who believed that women were inferior, now there's women today who believe that men are inferior. Look at the reigious wars that went on in the past, it's still the same today. It's all the same stupidity.

ppls r just being themsleves the problem is when we get older( i include my self) we just see all the stupid things more clearly. the more stupid thing is that we were one of those stupid ppl a few yrs back. it called maturity. but if u mean in like a way that cannot be explained. i think tecnology is too blame. every one has a cellphone and every one has all the information in the plam of the hands they dont have to go far or wor hard for anny thing as we had to.

Oh yeah... I'm 30 and I definitely see it too. It's because parents are spending all their time working just so they can get by... and this generation is being babysat by the celebritards on MTV.

Common sense died about 10 years ago. Unfortunately computers make things easier for us but we no longer have to think and reason as we did previously. And we wonder why so many companies are outsourcing jobs to other countries?
