Wood fired is good-depending on what type of wood you would be using (like mesquite) but charcoal flavored steak is the best!
I would prefer that over any flavored wood steak!

Wood fired. Cool technique, put some wood chips in aluminum foil with some water in then throw that on the charcoals. You have to watch to make sure the water doesn't evaporate and you get some great flavor.

wood have nice flavors. try using different types of woods. Thats the secret in making hot and cold smoked food items. woods have different aromas thats why it gives great falvors. as for charcoals..if you consume a hell lot of charcoal grilled food, you will get cancer. well, not that fast. but, charcoals releases some sort of chemical and when you see a burnt part on your food, just take it off, thats where the chemical goes in.

There are different kinds of wood and charcoal.
Natural charcoal has no fillers in it and is what I recommend.

Wood is chosen based on a number of properties.
In general, oak is good but I also use Mesquitte and let it burn down to coals for a stronger and different taste and longer lasting coals.
