That is true...the toothpaste dries out your skin and gets rid of the zit, however, unless you are putting toothpaste all over your face, it will not prevent zits from forming. Cleaning your face everyday or even twice a day pending on how oily your skin is, will keep the zits away. I also recommend a really good face cleaner. Proactive really does work, also dermalogica if you are looking for something that really works.

Toothpaste does not cure zits. One has to understand that we get zits most times based on some of the things we eat especially if they are high with fats and oils.
Solution for zits - change your diet, drink plenty of water and you could try from the topical perspective Herbalive Aloe Bar Soap.

In my experience I have used this "method" with great results. Although bear in mind that it has to be plain ol' white toothPASTE. Not gel, etc. Some people say that it doesn't work or it can't work. I suppose like anything you'd have to try it and see if it works for you personally. There's also another product from Origins which works quite well called "Spot Remover". Pretty much anything containing salcylic acid will dry the little sucker out.

Using toothpaste in a gel form for regular brushing can actually cause some people to break out . My dermatologist recommended sticking to white paste for brushing and it helped clear up my jaw line tremendously. If I ever use gel for a week or more, it starts all up again.

Actually, all it does is dry out the zit. It also dries out the area around the zit and can irritate your skin causing future zits.

I do this and yes it does work. Remember though, before resorting to toothpaste follow a acne regime for your face, if you run out of acne creme you can use toothpaste but I wouldn't recommend it as your daily acne regime.

Yes. A skin specialist I know said that. It has to be regular white toothpaste, tho, not gel or anything colored. He also said to stay away from dark soda pop, I don't know why.

It helps in a pinch, but you should not be using it for long term. It has to be the white paste (gel apparently does not work), but only short term quick fixes because it is so drying.
