I love the guy and I wish he were our oresident again. He seemed to specialize in peace and harmoniously uniting different countries. His awareness level was unbelievably higher than that of Bush. And if you ask me, Bush Jr. seemed to undo everything positive that Clinton has done.

Whether or not you agree with Clinton's policies, there is no denying his brilliance as a politician.
Every word the man says, every gesture, every engagement, is calculated to maximize political impact. Ever notice that when he spoke as president he'd always gesture with his left hand? That shows off that shiny wedding band, which is a symbol of virtue, stability and strength. Notice that, when preparing for the 1996 debates with Dole that he'd utter under his breath such buzz words as "economy" and "education" knowing full well that the microphones would pick them up?
Clinton is Paradise Lost for most Democrats I know, folks who see him as the biggest missed opportunity of their lifetimes; a chance to be the Democrats' Ronald Reagan.
I actually believe Clinton when he told Dan Rather on '60 Minutes' that his biggest problem was that he had so MANY things he wanted to do, he had a hard time focusing on any ONE thing.

I wish everyone who answers this could avoid mentioning Lewinsky because it's so cliche. I mean, get some new material people. Yes, we know he got a hummer in the Oral Office and lied about it to the American people. I think history will forgive him for that, though.

What I have a hard time forgiving is his lack of military chutzpah. Dems like to cite the '90s as "eight years of peace and prosperity", but if Clinton had engaged the military like he could have, it would've been less "peaceful", but 'Black Hawk Down' might never have happened, and 9/11 might never have happened (see Able Danger, 1993 WTC bombings, 2000 USS Cole).

Slightly better than average President.

His inability to keep his zipper up and his inability to tell the
truth about it really hampered a lot of the good he could have done.

Of course, if the Republicans hadn't been trying to impeach him
for that, he might have had time to make some progress. A
slightly more responsible congress would have made for a great
8 years.

I am not going to credit him for the economic boom that
happened during his Presidency - and I'm not going to say
he should take the fall for 9/11.

He tried to get rid of the discriminatory laws in the military
against homosexuals, but failed. He tried to start fixing
health care, but failed.

He is incredibly eloquent, but he had the bad luck to be
elected with such a hostile polarized Congress and to fall
victim of his own ... we'll be kind and say "stupidity".

Clinton is history now, but remember that such a person who never had any political credibility was elected twice president. My personal opinion about him is that he is a person who played the parties game right and did not get the US involved into something drastic that can lead to a big problem, i.e, walking always on a catwalk never doing something positive. His wife is a better politician than him but could fight his naivety or restore his image after the Lewinsky **** story which was part of his playing to entertain the American public.

Aside from the most in his administration convicted of felonies of any president...the only elected president ever impeached. He took campaign money from China for missile guidance technology, the nuclear hardware and material North Korea now uses to threaten the world. He passed on Bin Laden, ignored ALL terrorists attacks as little crimes instead of act of war. The largest tax increase on the working class since the socialist F.D.R. which was leading to a recession stopped only by the last Tax Cuts that saved America...once again as they always seem to do. His "Its for the children programs" were a great success...using military and U.N. outlawed poison gas on the children at Waco to "Protect" the children, and Elian Gonzalez kidnapped by armed thug storm troopers...What A Guy!
Would you take a cigar from him or let him within one hundred feet of your daughter? Whitewater, 17 felony convictions against his associates...Valarie Plame...None.
Impeached
Disbared
And should be tryed for treason!
All Old News! But that is WHO the Democrats are to this day!

Did NOT like him as President. I think he is responsible for a lot of what is going on right now. He had many opportunities to react, but ignored it. USS Cole and WTC Bombing 1 are good examples. Makes me wonder what would have happened if he was Pres. after 9/11..

But, hell of a guy to party with. Ask Monica, and Hollywood.

By the way. His wife is a waste of skin. How is that Health Insurance reform coming Hil? It's like OJ looking for the real killers.

If I have to select a President of USA I will select him every time. In his time period America progressed a lot. I hope Lady Clinton become the president. That will prove that women are equally strong and competent to men. And Americans respect women.
Sometime I wonder that North American men shows respect for ladies. They will hold the door for them, they will buy flowers, gifts, card etc, Will they ever accept female as a president? If not you are fooling ladies.
Thanks
Ben

History will call him a deeply flawed man, and fairly average as a President. He was in deep trouble with his programs almost immediately, and that's what led to the debacle in the 1994 election. The Democrat party lost power steadily under his leadership. He put feminist relations back quite a bit, too, when they supported him in spite of his clearly boorish (to be kind) behavior toward women.

On the other hand, those who know him like him, even when they strongly disagreed with him. What I really miss about him is that even speaking extemporaneously, his sentences could be diagrammed and they were nearly always perfect.

Best president in my lifetime--extremely intelligent, bright, sharp, and personable. The world held the US in much higher esteem when he was the president, and we had a budget surplus, to name just two major differences between then and now. His character flaw shouldn't have become such an issue, but the Republicans were out to get him on something--after all, they spent more than $50 million on the Whitewater investigation. I had the great fortune to meet him, and he is exceptionally charismatic.

I think he is a very charismatic person, who got pulled into the hype of being the most powerful man in the free world.

He is corrupt, and amoral. He compromised national security for a Bl*w j*b.

I think that he had such a bad stance on national security that he put our country in danger and allowed the things that led to 9/11 take place.

But I honestly think he did his best. You can't make everyone happy, and being President is the hardest job I can think of.
